                 How To Save Dolphins

                              http://www.dolphins-world.com/how_to_save_dolphins.html

On this website, they talk about how to save dophins and stop the killing around the world. The authors point of view is that we should not let them be killed, not only from man , but other animals and pollution. The authors purpose is to inform and persude us to save dolphins. This website is pretty relieable because it just states what you can do to help and other facts for dolphins.

   To Help you can:

Saving dolphins is not a difficult task, it only requires some attention from all of us.

One of the most important issues that should be addressed is the reduction of the pollution in the oceans which cause thousands of deaths to dolphins.

The second issue is related with the accidental deaths caused by fishing nets, specially those deployed by tuna ships.

Also the sound pollution should be stopped.

Finally the stop of all kind of commercial killing should be avoided.

Doing this and educating people about dolphins will help to save dolphins.

Killing Dolphins as Passage to Manhood

Denmark teen passage to manhood: kill innocent dolphins for sport

, Environmental Policy Examiner

Dolphin Hunt in Denmark

In the article Dolphin Hunt it talks about how in Denmark teenage boys are killing dolphins to try and show that they and adults and that they are mature. In this article the authors purpose is to inform people about this happening. The author does this by talking about how this is happening and why it is.

The authors viewpoint on this is that the dolphin slaughtering needs to stop. The author shows this by talking about ways it needs to stop and by talking about how what is occurring is bad. I think that this article is not a very good source because it doesn't use much logos and it doesn't use that many facts.

Dolphins Slaughtered in Taiji

In the article Dolphins Slaughtered in Taiji by Nicole McLachlan she talks about what all happens with the dolphin slaughtering happening. The purpose of her article is to persuade people to stop the dolphin slaughter. I think that she is persauding because she uses logos and talks about how what they are doing is bad.

I think that the authors viewpoint is that the dolphin slaughtering needs to stop. I think that it is this because she gives ways that we can prevent this from happening like she says that "Education and awareness about the slaughter are the key ways in which the Japanese Government will end it." I also believe that this is her viewpoint because she uses lots of pathos.

I think that this article is an accurate resource because it uses lots of facts and tells about how long its been happening and things that can help prevent it  from happening. I also think that this is an accurate resource because on the website it gives a list of the featured companies and organizations that sponsor the wbesite that the article came from. So if you ever need a article for dolphin slaughter this would be an A+ article for it.

Both Sides to Dolphin Slaughters

Dolphin Slaughter Brings Charges From Both Sides
February 11, 2008
From Kyung Lah CNN

http://articles.cnn.com/2008-02-11/world/japan.dolphins_1_dolphin-slaughter-dolphin-trainer-ric-o-barry?_s=PM:WORLD

In this article by Kyung  Lah from CNN, the author talks about how Japan doesn't like how people criticize that they eat dolphins. It's a tradition to kill dolphins. They have been doing it for hundreds of years. The Japanese feel that eating dolphin is the same as everybody else eating other animals such as deer, chicken and cow. On the other hand, other people in the Western Hemisphere of the Earth such as Ric O'Barry, are disgusted with what the Japanese are doing to the species they love. The authors purpose is inform on how there is good reasons on both sides of the story. Not only does he show that there is good reason to eating them, but also good reason to save them. The authors veiwpoint isn't strong because the author only shows viewpoints of other people and quotes. This is an accurate source because it's from CNN and CNN is a worldwide newscast.

Taiji Dolphin Slaughter

In the article, Tradition or travesty: dolphin killings in Japan by Charles Timko he author talks about the dolphin slaughtering in Taiji, Japan. The purpose of this article is to inform people about the dolphin slaughtering that is happening. The author informs us about this by talking about how the dolphin slaughters catch the dolphins first and then try and sell them to the aquariams and the ones that don't get sold are slaughtered. In the article it says "In addition, members of the international dolphin display industry attend these dolphin slaughters to purchase show-quality dolphins for use in captive dolphin shows and dolphin swim programs; the dolphins not selected are slaughtered." The authors viewpoint is that he wants the dolphin slaughtering to stop.  The author shows that this is his viewpoint by listing ways about what he and others can do to stop this from happening. He lists that:

  • "Understand what is happening in Taiji, but also be aware that this issue is not widely known in Japan. Don’t blame the general population of Japan for what a few are doing."
  •  "Avoid shows and parks with captive dolphins and whales. Supporting such establishments only makes the problem worse and there are far better ways to experience wildlife through ecotourism companies."
  • "Finally, do not consume or purchase any dolphin or whale meat. It is dangerous and only helps confirm the fishermen’s false claim there is a need for it. With no demand there is no market and no excuse for any more slaughters to take place."

I believe that this is an accurate resource becuase it came from a travel website. I also think that this is an accurate resource because multiple people have left comments on it, and I dont think that an article thats not accurate that would have that many comments or good responses like the ones on the article. Also because they use lots of facts and opinions. So if you every want a good article on dolphin slaughtering this is a good one to look at.
